What is iOLAP Academy, and what does it offer?

Milena: iOLAP Academy is a free, 8-week course designed for individuals passionate about gaining practical knowledge and starting their career in the IT industry. Over the past three years, 53 participants have completed the Academy, and we've hired 67% of them. The Academy offers Python, SQL, AWS, and AI (prompt engineering) knowledge, team collaboration, real-world project experience, the opportunity to network with IT enthusiasts, and the possibility of a job opportunity.

Does the Academy provide knowledge that aligns with current IT industry trends and needs?

Barbara: Absolutely. Participants will primarily learn about data and prompt engineering, and how to programmatically set up pipelines to interact with large language models (LLMs). They will also gain insights into client requirements in the AI space and work on projects that reflect these demands. Finally, participants will design and build practical solutions during their final project.

How does iOLAP Academy provide a practical, hands-on experience?

Milena: We equip our participants with the tools and access to various programs used in real projects. They get to work on actual problems we've encountered, testing their critical thinking skills. Teamwork is a key component, giving participants practical experience in collaboration and problem-solving. This year, it will be a site collaboration including teams and mentors, which will additionally enhance knowledge transfer and provide better insights into all areas covered by the Academy.

What specific skills and knowledge can individuals gain from iOLAP Academy?

Barbara: The Academy participants will gain valuable hands-on experience and knowledge of modern data analytics principles, including AWS, Python, and SQL. In addition to that, they will gain hands-on experience with Prompt Engineering, a skill widely used with emerging AI technologies. Besides that, they will acquire basic knowledge of agile principles and teamwork on projects. Additionally, participants will refine their presentation skills, as they will showcase the work completed during the project period.
